I’ve been fitting professionally since 1989, and currently provide services for more than 600-cyclists annually at three-locations. Each studio is designed specifically for the unique needs of my clients, and I guarantee my work with a money-back satisfaction guarantee.
My education includes two-master’s degrees (MPH/MSW), and I’d have a doctorate in Epidemiology if not for my obsession with Biomechanics ;). I’ve trained at the leading fit-schools and hold certifications in Yoga(s) and Manual Therapies. My shift from qualified to competent is the result of >10,000 documented fittings, continuing research, and regular contact with veteran fitters on this site.
Bicycle Fit Guru Studios:
Advanced Biomechanics Lab:
One of my greatest ABL accomplishments was programming the first custom-integrated 3D/sEMG protocols for bike fitting, and sEMG biofeedback protocols to reduce counterproductive pedaling.
I use the BTS Bioengineering system to write custom 3D/sEMG programs for research, diagnostics and performance testing — including protocols for bike fit, gait analysis and functional movement screening.
Additional services include Sm02 testing to determine optimal crank length, sports psychology, private yoga instruction and deep tissue therapies.
I sponsor a number of Injured, Elite, Professional and Olympic athletes, who serve as my research subjects in exchange for services rendered.
Odom Sports Medicine:
John Odom served as the USAT Olympic Triathlon Physician for 10-years before opening Odom Health and Wellness. I decided to work with John because he is a great person, with world-class experience treating multisport athletes.
We host a comprehensive solution to injury prevention and treatment, providing in-house services that include Coaching, Personal Training, Nutrition, Gait, Swim and Cycling Analysis, Pilates, Yoga, and more.
Clients meet individually with specialist who collaborates weekly to ensure a timely and successful outcome.
This affiliation does not impact my referral network and/or willingness to work with other providers.
Penn Cycle Minnetonka:
The Penn Cycle studio is designed for Screening, Bike Fitting and Pre-Purchase Consultation Services.
My business operates independently from Penn, which allows me to stock saddles, components and shoes from a variety of manufacturers – not just Trek. I also utilize a large dealer network so that clients can shop locally.
Chris Balser pioneered Integrated 3D/sEMG protocols for bike fitting, and collaborates on research and development with companies including BTS Bioengineering, Moxy, Serotta, LeMond, Sram/Zipp, QBP, Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center, Info Cranks, and More.
